Safety Ahead!

Although the term, “safe space” can arouse both positive and negative emotions;
lets look at the words in context of what aR Connection Meetings are…
a “safe space”.
Standing alone, each word seems trivial and common place.
But when placed together, they create a feeling of peace, strength and unity!
The definition of safe space is “a place intended to be free of bias, conflict, criticism, or potentially threatening actions, ideas or conversations”,
but it is also the place where shame, guilt, anger, remorse, sadness and grief come to die.

When stories are told in safe spaces,

every negative emotion that fights to drag us down into the depths of despair is met with a powerful opposition
that even the darkest of demons can’t overcome!
Shame is met with acceptance.
Anger is met with love.
Regret is met with promise.
The feeling of being alone is met with “me too”.
We are that safe space.
